of all the charlie browns in the world im the charlie brownest

back at the internet/gaming cafe again, im actually starting to enjoy coming in here. its mostly just punk ass kids yelling at each other over who killed who in their shoot-em-up gore-fest computer game, but theres some other interesting clientele as well. for example, theres a really greasy guy beside me checking out this adult friend finder website, which apparently in the “worlds largest sex and swinger personals site”. i hope he finds his soul mate.

my sister and tim have gone camping for a few days so im home alone. theres not much food in the house but luckily the ducks lay an egg each day so i get two very big and very fresh eggs everyday. i just wish they wouldnt attack me and peck my ankles as i go in the pen to get them.

chrissy was a lot of fun, we went to tim’s family christmas thing in hornsby. christmas eve was a big dinner and a big game of rummy poker, in which i destroyed everybody to win 16 dollars. for christmas day there was 17 people over, including lots of little cousins running everywhere. i drank a lot of beer, ate a lot of prawns, played some backyard cricket, and had my nails done by tim’s 8-year old cousin who was just dyin to try out her new makeup kit. i got some nice gifts, including the da vinci code (im reading it just for you alicia) and a talking simpsons bottle opener, just perfect.

i just booked my flight to new zealand at the end of february. there was a christmas sale so i just went for it, despite my oncoming lack of funds. im gonna have to start using my full ass to search for a job in the new year. i think im gonna end up picking fruit in the boonies for 6 weeks somewhere. but i dont have to worry about that till next week.

in the meantime, im going to melbourne with sheleena, to see de la soul, the black keys, the thrills, hayden and a bunch of aussie bands at the falls festival. its a 2 day hippie camping thing, right near the ocean, im pretty pumped. a nice 12 hour road trip to get there as well, ive been burning classic rock cds all day in preparation.

happy new years yo.

i have a lump!

but i got it checked out, no breast cancer. seriously though, my sister got me all worried that this small lump beside my right nipple might have to be removed or something, so i go to a doctor and pay 30 bucks to have her say, oh thats nuthin, what else? uhh that was it…

so we got no internet at home right now, apparently i used up all our dial up hours downloading music (surprise), so now we got nuthin until our broadband comes in, which should be a week or two. until then, i am limited to the occasional trip to the library or gaming cafe (nerd alert). nuthin much to update anyhow, my simple life is continuing unabated. reading and guitar mostly with some surfing thrown in for occasional exercise. the last couple times ive been out have been ruthless though, i got smashed on the day we went out while it was raining. i got tossed around and hit my head on the bottom, much like that ditz in blue crush did. i also was afraid to go back out into the surf that day, but alas, i didnt get lucky on my date with a dreamy professional football player… wait was her surfboard pink too? maybe i have another celebrity twin, besides zach braff and george michael from arrested development (i dont get that one at all).

my so called life

“I am so busy doing nothing… that the idea of doing anything - which as you know, always leads to something - cuts into the nothing and then forces me to have to drop everything.” - Jerry Seinfeld

sunny, sunny, sunny days

i felt a tad guilty yesterday when i was on the glorious cronulla beach, about to go for a surf, thinking about all those poor suckers back home in essay or exam studying hell. that lasted for about 90 seconds, then i proceeded to get smashed by waves for about a half an hour. the surfing skills are getting slightly better though, using my brother-in-law’s gigantic island-like surfboard, its hard not to stand.

so whoever reccomended the office and arrested development, you were right, hi-larious. somehow in australia’s 5 channel universe, they are both on. oh happy day.

been awhile since i put up some links, here goes:

BUSH MUST WIN IN NOVEMBER 2004 - obviously written before “black wednesday”, but it makes me almost feel better about the bush atrocity. like a drug addict, america has to hit rock bottom first before they realize they have to change. “All we have to do is suffer 4 more years of Bush and his loons, and they’ll finish the American right for ever!” “Bush should win and sink the whole empire into complete isolation and hopefully into its perdition.”

Bush Sets Out Plan to Dismantle 30 Years of Environmental Laws - and here’s one of the many ways in which america will go to hell in the next little while.

45 Million Children To Die in Next Decade Due to Rich Countries’ Miserliness - another sign of the apocalypse, we’re getting worse at giving aid: “The G7’s combined aid budgets expressed as a percentage of GDP in 2003 0.24 percent — were only about half of what they were in 1960, when they stood at 0.48 percent”

and who will lead america in 2008? jon stewart! i miss that man so much, but thanks to a very thoughtful gift, i now have him in convenient book form. “America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction” was named book of the year!

turns out kerry woulda kicked ass if punk ass kids voted, since young people voted kerry by a landslide.

Love One Another? Not on NBC, CBS - hey look im taking the side of organized religion! (who said that?) but only cause corporate media is ridiculous in not letting them show an ad that may contain gay people, gasp!

Nothing Sinister About Liberal Campuses - “Democrats greatly outnumber Republicans — by ratios as much as 7-1 — on many university faculties,” hmm veeery interesting…

This week’s installment of “Shocking but True and Also Very Scary” comes courtesy of Vice, about twin 12 year old’s who play white supremacy music on their violins. isnt that child abuse? but to cheer you up after such hatred, be sure to check out vice’s do’s and dont’s, as well as skinema, which all manage to split my sides from laughter consistently every month.

and finally, to end things on a positive note, how great is this thai origami peace bomb? such a beautiful little symbolic moment for peace.

i am in it right now

and my 2 week vacation from my vacation has ended, tiff has left. we did the tourist thing non-stop for the last 2 weeks: seaworld, dreamworld, byron bay, nimbin, gold coast, opera house, royal botanical gardens, sydney bridge, sydney aquarium, blah blah blah. it was really good times. and we celebrated my birthday in fashion with my sister and brother-in-law: got up early for a big breakfast, lawn bowling with beers, nap time, went surfing in the 37 degree weather, caught my first wave and actually stood up for more than a second, but then hit tiff in the head with my board (sorry, again), then had some thai food and a couple bottles of wine…

eep, im 22.

and i saw garden state, fantastic little film (and good site too, lots of behind the scenes and interviews and whatnot, which i would watch if i wasnt on dialup). so garden state is somewhere in my top 5 of the year, with eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, hero, f-911 just for its effect, and the life aquatic with steve zissou (which i havent seen yet, but am fully confident it will be simply amazing. stupid communist australia though, i gotta wait till march). garden state is eerily similar to my life, not just that we have the same name and apparently look the same and have the same mannerisms (so i’ve been told), but about family, reality, numbness, and ‘the infinite abyss’, its all andrew. so zach braff is my ‘celebrity twin’ as alex put it, and he even has his own blog! which makes sense because 2004 was the year of the blog. get on it people. communicating face to face is so 20th century.

so my first vacation on the gold coast for school is over, and my brief tiffany vacation is also over, now its time for my third vacation, the 4 month sit on my ass, play guitar, read lots, write lots, make tshirts, watch movies, hopefully get a job to save for a trip to new zealand, and obey every beck and whim of my pregnant sister. i thought i had my first crazy pregnant request when she asked for ice cream and sardines, but that turned out to be just a little communication mix-up.

well thats all for now. god bless. except for the god part.
